PlusDesign leverages its added value
Double distinction for the Rougemont Hotel

The words art, architecture, arithmetic, arts and crafts and artifact derive from the same root. This etymological family, which brings together artists, builders, scientists and craftsmen, is found in many design offices and work studios, especially those of Château d’ Oex, Plus Design and +D.
Claudia Sigismondi and her husband Andrea Proto, both architects who studied and trained in Rome, began their careers in Italy. For them, Switzerland, in particular the district of Enhaut was merely a summer holiday destination, until 2011 that is, when they secured a major contract in partnership with a Lugano firm. They then made Château-d’Oex their workplace and set up a company specialized in interior design and decoration. The company has an international reach and offers services ranging from design and development to the fitting out of hotels, boutiques, art galleries, conference rooms, offices and private homes. The company’s mastery of 3D imagery give it a 360 degree vision of a project even before work on it has started.
A merging of talents
After studying architecture, the Proto Sigismondi husband and wife team began by design buildings in Italy and elsewhere. Claudia Sigismondi’s talents, which include a sense of harmony and colour and customer insight, merged with her husband’s ability to find technical solutions and his knowledge of lighting systems and 3D imagery. An innate attraction for art, which is in the Roman DNA, and interior design led them to organize exhibitions in Italy devoted to major artists such as Matisse, Picasso, Van Gogh, Degas and to celebrities such as Sophia Loren, Pavarotti and Giovanni Agnelli.
PlusDesign is the result of these talents and know-how. Its founders are convinced that creativity in the interior design of a building gives it added value, sublimating it and making it a place of artistic beauty and refinement. Hence the links that the founders develop with contemporary artists, painters, sculptors and photographers such as Vincent Munier whose works they seek to promote.
The range of services offered by the couple draws on its broad experience in interior architecture, its flexibility, creativity and on its network of local and international artists and craftsmen. This allows Plus Design to propose original projects which combine tradition and innovation. Its chalets in the Alps, which are often decorated with modern fixtures and which feature pure lines, leverage sources of natural light and reflect the imposing landscapes. PlusDesign’s activities are not limited to interior architecture or to the Alpine region. The firm is active far beyond the district of Enhaut: it takes part in architecture competitions and develops generalist projects focused on locations along the shores of Lake Geneva.
