40th International Hot Air Balloon Festival
27 January - 4 February 2018

Château-d’Oex, the alpine capital for hot air ballooning, attracts pilots from all over the world.
They relish flying in this valley with its exceptional microclimate, which offers superb views over the Alps and Pre-Alps.
Balloons take off from Château-d’Oex all year round. The view from above offers an impressive 360° panorama on the Alpine landscape: from Mont-Blanc to the Eiger, taking in the Grand-Combin, the Matterhorn, the Jura; and the regions around Lake Geneva and the canton of Fribourg.
The Night Glow event on Friday, February 2, is a highlight of the Festival: a sound and light show with 20 glowing balloons and musical choreography. This year, the topic of the show will be Charlie Chaplin. Paraglider's and Swiss Ski School's night show will be accompanied by music and a fireworks display.
